Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities: * Translation and Interpretation: Accurately translate documents, emails, and other written materials from Japanese to English and vice versa, ensuring the preservation of the original meaning and context. Provide real-time interpretation during meetings, conference calls, and presentations involving Japanese and non-Japanese-speaking participants. Review and proofread translations done by other team members or external agencies, ensuring quality and consistency. * Communication Support: Facilitate communication between Japanese and non-Japanese speaking stakeholders, including clients, partners, and team members, by providing language assistance. Assist in drafting and editing correspondence, reports, and presentations in both Japanese and English. Coordinate and schedule meetings, conference calls, and video conferences involving Japanese-speaking participants. * Administrative Assistance: Provide general administrative support, including but not limited to travel arrangements, expense reporting, and event planning. Assist in the preparation of materials for meetings, presentations, and training sessions. Maintain and update contact lists, files, and databases as needed. * Cultural Support: Act as a liaison between the organization and Japanese-speaking stakeholders, ensuring a smooth flow of information and understanding of cultural nuances. Provide guidance on Japanese business practices and etiquette to non-Japanese-speaking team members.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field, such as Business Administration or Japanese Studies. * Native or near-native fluency in Japanese and English, both written and spoken. * Strong translation and interpretation skills, with experience in a business setting preferred. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. * Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications. * Familiarity with Japanese business culture and practices is a plus. * Able to travel overseas To succeed in this role, you should be a detail-oriented and highly organized individual with excellent language skills and a deep understanding of Japanese and English cultures. You should also possess strong communication, interpersonal, and multitasking abilities to effectively support the organization's international business operations.
